Reading this could save YOUR life or the life of a loved one!

If your life or your loved ones' life depended on having critical health information available at a moments notice would you be prepared? Could you access the information within a few minutes or even an hour, day or night?

For most Americans the answer is NO! When you need the information most, it’s not available. We are not prepared for impending medical emergencies. We are forced to rely upon memory or the emergency care givers ability to make the right choices.

“I was faced with this situation when my father was diagnosed and treated for sepsis in the lungs from Asbestos exposure. His pain was so severe and so traumatic he tried to take is own life to save his family from the burden of caring for him. He was a proud military man and he saw pain as a sign of weakness. Our family was not aware of all the medication he was taking for heart disease, chronic pain and liver disease. Due to this lack of critical information he was over medicated and died of internal organ failure.

The burden of having lost him is much greater than the burden of caring for him would ever have been. He was only 62 years young! Who was at fault..the doctors, the nurses, or the hospital? NO, the fault was ours! Our family did not have the necessary information for the doctors and nurses to make the right decisions. They could only use the information available. Unfortunately, it was the WRONG information.

It is OUR responsibility to take care of our medical records and medical history and to be accountable in giving physicians and care givers accurate information!

What would have happened if we had access to the RIGHT information at the touch of a button? Imagine if we could have given the correct information, in the correct sequence and the doctors could have prescribed the right medications in the correct doses. Would our father still be alive? We believe YES!” - Susie Carder

Don’t be caught in the same situation and lose the most precious gift you have… family and loved ones.

Courage Awareness is commited to inspiring awareness of pateint rights to medical records and care through a national media campaign. Every family in America deserves peace of mind.

As a two time cancer survivor while supporting small children and a disabled husband I have learned the value of standing up and take charge of your medical records and care. My journey back to health has inspired me to take up this worthy cause. It is our right and responsibility to become our own health advocates. Remember the life you save could be your own.
